What is the advantage of Type C over Type A?
Type C provides symmetric shaft support with hubs on both sides, reducing shaft bending and bearing loads. Type A is a flat plate requiring separate hub fabrication.
Can I use Type C if my shaft has limited axial space?
Type C is wider than Type A due to the dual hubs. Verify that the overall width (E + 2 × hub length) fits your available space.
What bore and keyway combinations are standard?
Standard bores range from 1/2 inch to 2-3/16 inches depending on chain size, with ANSI B17.1 keyways and setscrews on both hubs.
Are these sprockets balanced for high-speed operation?
Standard sprockets are suitable for typical conveyor speeds. For high-speed applications above 1,500 RPM, we offer dynamically balanced units on request.

- Shaft Cleaning: Remove rust, grease, and old adhesive from the shaft surface using emery cloth and solvent.
- Bushing Preparation: Inspect the bushing bore and taper for damage. Apply a thin film of anti-seize compound to the taper surface.
- Assembly: Place the bushing into the sprocket hub, align the bolt holes, and finger-tighten the cap screws.
- Positioning: Slide the assembly onto the shaft to the desired axial position.
- Tightening: Torque cap screws evenly in a star pattern to the manufacturer’s specified value.
- Verification: Spin the shaft by hand and verify free rotation. Check alignment with a straight edge or laser.
