Sprocket Selection Guide
Zincir Numarasına Göre Seç
Match your existing roller chain marking (stamped on side plates) to the corresponding sprocket series number. For example, an ANSI 40 chain requires a No.40 sprocket. If your chain is a heavy-duty “H” series (e.g., 60H), standard sprockets of the same number will fit.
Select by Application
Light-duty packaging lines: No.25–35. General manufacturing conveyors: No.40–60. Heavy aggregate, mining, and lumber: No.80–120. Extreme-load steel mill and oil-field drives: No.140–200.
Select by Load Rating
Calculate the design horsepower using the ANSI selection tables, factor in a service factor (1.0–1.5 for uniform loads; up to 2.0 for heavy shock), then choose the smallest chain pitch that meets the required capacity. A smaller pitch sprocket at higher RPM is often quieter and lighter than a larger pitch at lower speed.
Material & Manufacturing Process
🔨 Base Material
AISI/SAE 1045 medium-carbon steel (0.43–0.50% C, 0.60–0.90% Mn). This grade provides a tensile strength of approximately 85 ksi and a hardness of 170–210 HB in the as-rolled condition, ensuring excellent machinability and weldability.
🔥 Heat Treatment
Teeth on sprockets with 25 teeth or fewer are induction-hardened to HRC 50–60 at the tooth tip and flank, while the hub/plate body remains at core hardness (HRC 20–28) for impact toughness. Larger tooth counts are supplied in the as-rolled condition, suitable for moderate-speed applications.
⚖ Surface Treatment
Standard black oxide (gun-blue) finish provides temporary corrosion protection during storage and shipping. Optional finishes include zinc plating (clear or yellow chromate), Dacromet coating for extreme corrosion environments, and nickel plating for food-grade applications.
Application Scenarios

Assembly lines, packaging machines, CNC lathes
Conveyors
Belt drives, roller conveyors, sortation systems

Crushers, screening plants, bucket elevators

Global Customer Testimonials
★★★★★ BHP Conveyor Division — Melbourne, Australia
“We replaced our previous supplier’s sprockets with Ever-power Type A units on 14 underground conveyor drives. After 18 months of continuous operation, tooth wear is less than 0.15 mm — well within spec. Delivery to Melbourne was faster than our local distributor.”
★★★★★ Krones AG — Neutraubling, Germany
“Precision on the tooth profile is outstanding. We use the No.40 and No.50 Type A sprockets on our bottling-line drives, and the noise level dropped measurably compared to the previous brand.”
★★★★☆ Tata Steel Processing — Jamshedpur, India
“Cost-effective without compromising on hardness or dimensional accuracy. We’ve standardised on Ever-power for all our roller-table drives. OEM bore machining saved us considerable workshop time.”
★★★★★ Bunge Milling — Sao Paulo, Brazil
“Grain elevator drives run 24/7 in a dusty, high-humidity environment. The black-oxide finish on these sprockets holds up remarkably well, and replacement intervals have extended from 12 to 20+ months.”

What is the difference between Type A and Type B sprockets?
Type A is a flat plate with no hub — ideal for welding onto custom hubs or mounting against a flat surface. Type B has a hub on one side, allowing direct shaft mounting with a keyway and setscrew. Choose Type A when you need a compact profile or plan to weld the sprocket to an existing structure.
Are these sprockets hardened?
Yes — all stock sprockets with 25 teeth or fewer come with induction-hardened teeth (HRC 50–60). Larger tooth-count sprockets are supplied un-hardened in the as-rolled condition, which is adequate for most moderate-speed applications. Custom through-hardening is available on request.
Can I get a custom bore size?
Absolutely. We supply sprockets as stock bore (pilot bore) or finished bore with keyway, setscrew, and specified tolerances. Contact our engineering team at sprockets.top/contact with your shaft diameter and tolerance requirements.
What surface treatments are available?
Standard is black oxide. We also offer zinc plating (electro-galvanised), yellow chromate, Dacromet, nickel plating, and hard chrome for extreme-wear applications. Stainless steel (304 or 316) sprockets are available as custom orders.
What is the lead time for OEM orders?
Stock items ship within 3–5 business days. Custom bore, special materials, or large-volume OEM orders typically ship within 15–25 business days, depending on quantity and specification complexity.

Installation Guide
- Shaft Preparation: Clean the shaft and inspect for burrs or damage. Verify shaft diameter and keyway dimensions match the sprocket bore specifications.
- Mounting: Slide the sprocket onto the shaft (or weld Type A to a hub first). For keyed bores, align the key before pushing the sprocket into position.
- Alignment: Use a straight-edge or laser alignment tool across the faces of the driving and driven sprockets. Misalignment should not exceed 1/64″ per foot of chain span.
- Chain Tensioning: Install the roller chain and adjust the centre distance so that chain sag on the slack side is approximately 2% of the span length. Over-tensioning accelerates wear.
- Fastening: Tighten setscrews to the recommended torque (refer to bore size chart). Apply medium-strength threadlocker for vibration resistance.
Maintenance & Inspection Schedule
| Interval | Action | Replacement Threshold |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly | Visual inspection for chain sag, unusual noise, or tooth chipping | Any cracked or chipped tooth — replace immediately |
| Monthly | Measure chain elongation with a wear gauge | Replace chain at 3% elongation; inspect sprocket teeth |
| Quarterly | Check sprocket tooth profile against a new sprocket or template | If tooth tip wear exceeds 0.5 mm beyond original profile, replace |
| Every 2,000 hrs | Full lubrication service; re-tension chain | Re-lubricate with ISO VG 100–150 oil or NLGI #2 grease |
